10-17 YEARS OLD

Hey young author!

Now you have an opportunity to show your skills, be seen and be awarded for your amazing story or a poem! The story can be actual factual or fantasy, exactly as you yourself want it.

Your poem can be legendarily long, a well thought-out haiku or all in-between! The best works get to dazzle on Rasmus’s website, either with your own name or a pen name.

We notify the winners personally and make a short interview about you, which will be published on our website. The awards are fun and practical youth stuff, about which later on.

The poems and stories might be published as a book in the future, where the texts and writers that participated in this competition will be included by (pen)name. Each author who was included in the book will be send their own copy. Revenues from the book will be directed to the association’s youth activities.

Participating in the competition:

You are a young person between ages 10 to 17
You can write in either Finnish or English

Equity / justice
Heroic story
Bullying at school
Encountering difference
Celebrating difference
Social cohesion / togetherness
Respect
Moving from home to another locale or country
Friendship

Send your text by email to address rasmus.contest@gmail.com and remember to add your contact information, including postal address and phone number. It is also good to tell your parents or an adult you trust, that you have participated in this competition!

18-29 YEARS OLD

Hey you secret author!

Now you have an opportunity to show your skills, be seen and be awarded for your story or poem! The story can be fact or fiction, exactly as you yourself want. Your poem can be spoken poetry (rap), a well thought-out and crystallised haiku or anything in-between.

The best works will be published on Rasmus’s website, so that your text gets as much visibility as possible, either with your own name or a pen name.

We will notify the winners personally and make a short interview about you, that will be published on our website. The awards are fun and practical things for young adults, about which later on. The poems and stories might be later published as a book, which will include the texts and (pen) named writers, who have participated in this competition.

Each author included in the book will be send their own copy of the book. Revenues from the book will be directed to the association’s youth activities.
